Pimlico UTC

Pimlico South Conservatives warmly welcome the announcement that Ada, The National College for Digital Skills will move into the site of the University Technical College at Ebury Place, SW1.

The announcement follows the decision by the Department for Education to close UTC in August this year due to low enrolment numbers. It means the building, with its impressive infrastructure and facilities, will remain in educational use and continue to provide high quality technical training and skills to Westminster residents.

Cllr Tim Barnes, Cabinet Member for Young People and Learning at Westminster City Council, said: “Ada will be a fantastic addition to the learning options for young people in Westminster and will build on many of the aspirations for the UTC.”

Cllr Murad Gassanly, the local Conservative ward councillor, said: “We are delighted that UTC will remain in educational use and excited to welcome Ada, the National College for Digital Skills to Pimlico South. This new skills hub will open up great new opportunities for young people in our community.”

The Council will continue working with DoE, UTC staff and parents to support students for the remainder of the year.
