St-Edmund’s-Terrace

A planning application for nine residential units at 4-6 St Edmund’s Terrace was refused in November at a Planning Committee meeting. Regent’s Park Ward Councillors were contacted when this application was submitted concerned about the impact this development would have on their amenity including a sense of enclose and overlooking owing to the high rise nature of the building proposed.

Councillor Robert Rigby met with concerned residents and made representation on their behalf. He said: "This development will most impact on those residents who live in Wells Rise and the flats at 7-8 St Edmund’s Terrace and Danes Court, St Edmund’s Terrace. The major concern is around massing, bulk, overdevelopment and the sense of enclosure and overlooking and for those reasons this application should be refused.’"

One local resident wrote to Cllr Rigby saying:
"Thank you so much for your support. I know that you felt our desperation in July..."
Another resident said: "Thank you very much for all your work with this. We really appreciate your advocacy on our behalf…. I just want something that will add to the area rather than take amenity away from us."
