Tube noise - enough is enough! Calls for track replacement to be brought forward

Tube

A major long-standing issue for residents in parts of Warwick Ward and neighbouring Tachbrook has been the continuing noise and vibrations from the tube trains, particularly the line southbound from Victoria Station.

Cllr Jacqui Wilkinson said: “I met Mayor of London Sadiq Khan in November, along with our Greater London Assembly Member Tony Devenish and resident representatives, to press upon him the distress tube noise was causing for some of our residents and to find out what he was going to do about it. The only options put forward were further regrinding of the rails or replacement of the tracks. The regrinding was planned for 20/21 March but cancelled at the last minute without informing anyone with the excuse that there had been “problems with the ventilation in the tunnels”.”

Well enough is enough! All the works done so far by TfL have clearly failed so we are now calling a replacement of the track. This is scheduled for 2020 but our residents cannot wait that long! We have written a letter to the Mayor of London in conjunction with Tachbrook colleagues and residents groups calling him to order TfL to replace tracks now.
