You may have noticed an increasing number of children on the Victoria line are wearing ear protection.
Realising that the tube noise has been getting worse, Pimlico North Cllr Ed Pitt Ford measured the decibels on the tube and was shocked to realise that it reached over 114dB between Pimlico and Victoria inside the carriage.
The noise levels have been reported to Tony Devenish, West Central London's GLA Member and he will be taking this up on our behalf.
Tony Devenish AM said:
“The London Assembly has unanimously passed not one, but two motions urging Sadiq Khan as Mayor to sort tube noise out. Tfl are doing some works but progress is glacial at best. Pull your finger out Sadiq.
Noise pollution is a very serious matter. Do please email me with specific examples so tfl tackle it in your home, business or on the tubes themselves.”
We have had an ongoing battle with tube noise in Pimlico and appreciate that it is particularly bad for basement flats so please do continue to report the noise so that together we call for action on your behalf.
