Your Conservative councillors visited Sheldon Square flats that would be affected by loss of light from the proposed development of the Travis Perkins site.

We spoke to residents in several of the blocks about the impact of the plans. 

They accept that the Travis Perkins site could be better used, and welcome keeping the builders’ merchant alongside some student housing - but did not want the huge reduction in light that the initial proposals would have inflicted on them. They and other Sheldon Square residents are also worried about the impact of increased traffic on congestion around the Harrow Road roundabout.

Following our visit, these issues have been fed back to the developer. The plans will be reworked to address the concerns.
