Supporting residents concerns on unauthorised roller shutter

Roller Shutter

When local people living on Prince Albert Road contacted your ward Councillors about a planning issue at their mansion block we supported their concerns. A roller shutter into the basement garage was removed and a new shutter installed without the appropriate planning permission. Given the special architectural interest of the listed building the unauthorised shutter was considered inappropriate.

The garage owner is now seeking to obtain retrospective planning permission for a more appropriate shutter which is in keeping with the 1930’s building and conservation area, meanwhile the City Council are in the process of seeking removal of the unauthorised roller shutter. As one resident who lives in Oslo Court commented:

‘We are grateful to Cllr Rigby’s prompt response to our concerns and the assistance he has given to help resolve this planning issue’.

If you have any planning matters you wish to bring to our attention please do get in contact.
