Cycling

Persuading more people across our City to walk, cycle or using greener forms of transport instead of using their car is one of the single biggest things we can do to improve air quality.

To support this, Conservative-run Westminster City Council has:

  • Continued with the roll out of new 'cycleway' routes through the city, working towards a fully joined up cycling network across Westminster
  • Proactively worked to improve the public realm making it safer and easier to walk around Westminster
  • Introduced secure cycle hangers across the City and plan to expand provision over the next year by a further 300 places
  • Installed ten 'school streets', making it safer for young people to walk and cycle to school as well as improving air quality around school sites
  • Installed the largest network of EV chargers anywhere in London, enabling more and more people to use zero-emissions vehicles

Westminster Conservatives are committed to making our City greener and cleaner. Find out more about what your Council has achieved on environmental issues under Conservative control here.
