"Save the 24" says local Councillor and Pimlico resident Jacqui Wilkinson

The 24 is one of sixteen central London bus routes threatened with cuts by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan.

We heard from local Councillor and Pimlico resident Jacqui Wilkinson about the local campaign to save our buses. Jacqui explains

I'm here outside Sainsbury's in Wilton Road and next door to the well-used bus stop for the number 24 bus. I

've been inundated by residents who are complaining to me about the plans of Sadiq Khan to slash bus routes in central London.

And this includes number 24, the oldest bus route in London, which links Pimlico with the West End and also the number 16 which links Vauxhall Bridge Road with North Westminster.

Residents have been telling me how important these bus routes are and they don't know how they would get on without them.

Thanks to Sadiq Khan, it's become very difficult and expensive to own cars in central London.

And for those who actually can afford them, they then come in for the charges. Thanks to Sadiq Khan. Congestion charge and ULEZ.

So for many people are busses are the lifeblood of our local communities, enabling people to travel around London.

Your local councillors are campaigning against these changes, and we want you to help us say to Sadiq Khan "You cannot take away our bus routes"

They are so important to us.

We will be contacting you to tell you how you can actually campaign against this and help us.

We need to keep our bus routes.

It's time for Safe Streets in Westminster

Under Labour, crime has got worse. Phone theft, antisocial behaviour, public disorder and drug dealing have all increased. People think twice before using their phone on the street. Shopkeepers have accepted shoplifting as a daily reality. Families avoid their local parks. And schools have lost community police officers. All under Sadiq Khan’s watch as Westminster Labour have overseen managed decline.
