Play streets for primary schools in Bryanston and Dorset Square

As part of the Westminster City Council’s Active Streets Programme and Air Quality pledge, your Councillors are pleased to report the designation of Enford Street as the Council’s first “Play Street” on 23rd April 2019.

Between 8:00am and 9:00am and 2.45pm and 3.45pm on Monday to Friday during school term time, removable bollards will be placed at the junction of Enford Street and York Street. This initiative will help improve air quality around schools and provide a safer area for children walking or cycling to St Mary’s Bryanston Square Primary school.

Westminster Conservatives are delighted that the current Labour council has finally publicly agreed with the Conservative councillors’ position on Angela Rayner’s proposed planning reforms. This Labour Government has proposed completely removing local councillors from the decision-making process on almost all applications. Westminster Conservatives pointed out that this is undemocratic and could undermine public trust in planning decisions back in March.
