Pimlico Gardens is a much-loved open space, however for too long has not had the investment needed to maximise its potential.

Your local Conservative councillors have, for years, campaigned for funds to revitalise this area, making it a destination for activity, leisure, fitness and sport. After much work, this funding has now been achieved and the initial design process has begun.

The council is committed to working closely with residents to ensure plans represent exactly what local people want from space.

Early discussions have indicated that residents want the neighbouring St George’s Square Gardens to retain its quiet atmosphere and would rather Pimlico Gardens be the focus for noisy activity such as from school groups, children’s parties and personal trainers.

This is why proposals will include greater playground facilities for young people as well as a dedicated space for personal trainers and outdoor exercise equipment.

We also know residents want the gardens to be a place to relax next to the river. That’s why early proposals include reimagining the old gardener’s hut into a community café with seating overlooking the Thames.

The plans also seek to keep the central lawn which is well used by residents. Keep your eyes peeled for more information as we move through the next stages of the design and consultation period.
