Two Cities MP, Nickie Aiken, spoke out in the Commons with the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak MP, following Labour-run Westminster City Council's plan to increase parking charges for electric vehicles by 1800%.

In the Commons, Nickie explained,

"We know that the Labour Party has an aversion to the white van man. But does the Prime Minister share my concerns that according to a Daily Telegraph report today, Labour-run Westminster Council is increasing parking charges for electric small vehicles by up to 1800 per cent, demonstrating that it doesn't support small businesses nor tackle climate change? "

The Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak MP, replied,

"My Hon. Friend is right to raise these concerns and it seems that Labour in London are yet again penalising hardworking people. First, we had ULEZ and now it seems they are hiking parking charges on white van drivers and small businesses. And I join my Hon. Friend in urging the Labour-run Westminster Council to rethink these damaging proposals."
