Since the election residents have been telling us about the frustrations they have with the Council’s website and online services. We agreed with them and dedicated an entire cabinet portfolio to improving our online offer. As a result, the Council has now redesigned the look of the website to give it a modern, more engaging look, as well as making improvements to usability and accessibility.
We’ve refreshed the homepage and three key navigation areas (‘Report It’, ‘Licensing and Planning’ and ‘Apply and Pay’). Further updates in the coming weeks will cover the news section, search function, key services’ area hubs, and more.
This programme of improvements comes ahead of an upcoming major overhaul to provide a modernised, fit-for-purpose website. As part of this programme, improvements to our ‘Report It’ tool are also underway to make it easier to use; along with the introduction of an app for residents to report issues.
