Damaged Tree

Selfish dumping of rubbish by the tree at the end of Bathurst Street on Westbourne Street has to stop.

Your councillors have commissioned new signs to show that a 90 second walk will take people with waste to dump as far as the Big Black Bin outside St James’s Church on Sussex Gardens.

In the meantime we have posted a new warning sign warning that fines can be levied when our investigations link the waste to an address.

The tree has also been damaged by illegal flyposting by Hyde Park Labour using eight heavy rusting, unremovable screws penetrating the bark - see photo.

We are working with our City Inspector, Michelle Ascensao and involving the HyPer residents’ group in a solution involving planting that will make the area more attractive and make it more difficult to dump bags at this spot.
