Bird Street
There was a meeting recently with residents, Cllr Karen Scarborough and the New West End Company to resolve the issues that have inadvertently arisen with New West End Company’s (NWEC) project to improve Air Quality using technology, utilising dead spaces /side streets around the West End, by introducing Kiosks to promote fashion and technology and generation of electricity. Residents concerns have been listened to and we are waiting for NWEC to come back to us with solutions.

Begging and Rough Sleeping
Your Councillors have been working with our City Inspector to reduce the number of beggars in Wimpole and Harley Street. Unfortunately it seems as quickly as we remove those begging they can be quickly replaced. This summer we have however seen an overall decrease in begging and rough sleeping by working with partnerships and input from the community.
Westminster Council, work with the police, St Mungo’s and the Borders Agency in order to affect a systematic long term solution for those who sleep rough on the Ward. If you see a rough sleeper who is new in the area please contact street concern so we can engage with them. Please email [email protected] with any information you have about new rough sleepers.
St. Vincent Street bollards
Following the successful installation of bollards in St Vincent Street, with the junction of Cramer Street, thereby making it safer for the children and parents of St Vincent Primary School Vincent Street, the police will randomly be in the area and prosecute any who try to drive through St Vincent's Street.
