ITV's Toby Sadler interviewed local Councillor Tony Devenish following the tragic murder of a 24-year-old in Knightsbridge.

Toby Sadler, ITV News, said

"Conservative Councillor Tony Devenish is adamant. Violent street crime is getting so bad, some of his constituents are thinking about leaving London."

Knightsbridge and Belgravia Cllr Tony Devenish said,

"Everybody who visits London or lives in London knows that knife crime to get a watch or a mobile phone has become way too prevalent and we need to crack down on that."

"So who's to blame?"

"Well, I don't want to be in the blame game, but Sadiq Khan is the Mayor of London. He is Police and Crime Commissioner. He's been the Mayor for nine years."

Toby Sadler concluded,

"The Mayor and Met Police have announced a crime blitz this summer. 32 hot spots will see a crackdown. Knightsbridge is not on that list."

Cllr Tim Barnes on LBC: "There never was, there never will be" a ban on standing up for a Drink

Saturday, 8 August, 2026
Asked whether the council was trying to ban vertical drinking, Cllr Barnes was clear: "No, of course not. That would be a silly thing to do. It would be completely against everything that we have publicly said we're setting out to do... There isn't, there never was, there never will be a plan to ban standing up in a pub in Westminster to have a drink."
