Junction

The safety of pedestrians and road users is a priority so when your councillors heard of concerns by residents about the junction at Allitsen Road and Charlbert Street we took this up with Officers. Subsequently works have recently taken place to improve both the footway and carriageway with the introduction of a partly raised table and hatching on the road surface and new give-way signage, all designed to slow traffic and provide additional protection to pedestrians.

As one local person said ‘I too have witnessed near misses at this junction with cars coming at great speed so any measures to help reduce speeding and create a safer environment is to be welcomed’.
