Several people have got in touch with us asking what your Conservative-led Council has done to make travel around Westminster more environmentally friendly.
To make travel around Westminster greener Conservative-run Westminster City Council has:
- Made permanent 11 out of the 14 temporary cycle lanes brought in during the pandemic
- Continued with the roll out new 'cycleway' routes through the city, working towards a fully joined up cycling network across Westminster
- Proactively worked to make it safer and easier to walk around Westminster
- Introduced secure cycle hangers across our City
- Installed ten 'school streets', making it safer for young people to walk and cycle to school as well as improving air quality around school
- Installed the largest network of EV chargers anywhere in London, enabling more and more people to use zero-emissions vehicles
- Joined in with TfL's trial E-scooter hire system
Westminster Conservatives are committed to making Westminster a greener City.
