E-scooters

Cllr Danny Chalkley recently met with our local police team to discuss e-scooters.

Several local people have reported them being used "on the pavement, at speed and dangerous" to us. Following the meeting Danny explained.

"The police told me about operations across our area, most recently in Douglas Street and on the Cathedral Piazza, focussing on education and warnings for now but moving into more of an enforcement phase of tickets and potential seizure of E-scooters.  Inconsiderate cycling is also a target. Most scooters are illegal and many riders unsafe."

Pilots trials of regulated scooter use are beginning in several London Boroughs to see if use can be effectively regulated and made safe, or not; Westminster is joining the trial for ten months from the start of August.

We would like to hear from you about e-scooters, let us know your views.

Its time for Safe Streets in Westminster

Wednesday, 1 April, 2026
Under Labour, crime has got worse. Phone theft, antisocial behaviour, public disorder and drug dealing have all increased. People think twice before using their phone on the street. Shopkeepers have accepted shoplifting as a daily reality. Families avoid their local parks. And schools have lost community police officers. All under Sadiq Khan’s watch as Westminster Labour have overseen managed decline.
