Whilst your Councillors are very supportive of cycling, we have received numerous complaints of Lime Bikes, Mobikes etc "abandoned" on the highway, very often on a narrow pavement causing an obstruction making it difficult for pedestrians to pass; particularly those in a wheelchair or children in a buggy.
In response to this issue, your Council will be enacting a by Law imposing a £500 fine on the companies who own the bikes for bikes left in on the highway in undesignated areas. It is hoped that the fine will then be passed on to their customers, to act as a deterrent by obliging the users to be considerate and responsible as to where the bikes are left.
