The Mayor of London’s plans to build Cycle Superhighway 11 (CS11) cycle route from Swiss Cottage have been rejected following Westminster City Council’s successful Judicial Review. A High Court judge agreed with your ward councillors and local campaigners that Transport for London (TfL) had not provided the necessary modelling information for the Council to assess the impact CS11 will have on our residents here in St John’s Wood. This means that TfL’s decision in the summer to proceed with the current scheme at Swiss Cottage have been quashed.
The CS11 proposals were ill conceived and would have diverted traffic into residential streets through St John’s Wood and Hampstead worsening the problems they were meant to improve especially road safety and air quality.
