With its twice weekly bin and recycling collections as well as regular street cleaning, Little Venice is one of the cleanest parts of London. Fly tipping has fallen year on year in Westminster since 2013, unlike the rest of the UK. Nevertheless there is more work to be done in order to clamp down further on the hot spots. Your Conservative-led Council has recently formed a new Street Waste Action Team (SWAT) to tackle local problems of rubbish dumping and fly-tipping, with one of the areas in focus being Little Venice.
The council is committed to holding the worst offenders to account, with Westminster City Council issuing more fly-tipping fines than any other London borough. We believe this sends a clear message to perpetrators: if you fly-tip, you will be caught and you will be fined. Nevertheless, your local Conservative Action Team keep an eye on the local fly tipping hotspots, in particular on Clifton Gardens, around Warwick Avenue Station, at various points on Sutherland Avenue as well as a number of sites on the Hall Park Estate. By regularly inspecting these sites, we can report them immediately and, in most cases, arrange for the rubbish to be cleared on the same day (see “You asked, we delivered” below).
If there are problems with fly tipping in your area, Residents contact usby emailing us or use the Report It! Function on the council’s website: https://www.westminster.gov.uk/report-it
