Covent Garden

Following extensive public consultation in 2021 and previous years, an experimental traffic management scheme introduced changes to traffic movements, vehicle access, parking and servicing in the Covent Garden area from 8 December 2021.

The changes were introduced in both the Westminster and Camden parts of Covent Garden by an Experimental Traffic Order so that the scheme could be monitored closely and changes can be made quickly if unforeseen problems occurred.

Now that the trial has been in place for almost a year, the two councils are proposing to make the changes permanent so they are carrying out a final consultation. You can tell the councils what you think by completing the questionnaire here.

Our Plan for Safe Streets

Its time for Safe Streets in Westminster

Wednesday, 1 April, 2026
Under Labour, crime has got worse. Phone theft, antisocial behaviour, public disorder and drug dealing have all increased. People think twice before using their phone on the street. Shopkeepers have accepted shoplifting as a daily reality. Families avoid their local parks. And schools have lost community police officers. All under Sadiq Khan’s watch as Westminster Labour have overseen managed decline.
