Children

A growing body of research shows that good mental health is essential for individual wellbeing, for a happy, healthy society and a prosperous economy. Our overall mental health and wellbeing has seen a decline since the start of the pandemic.

Amongst children and young people, a survey published by the NHS found that one in six children in England had a probable mental disorder. To help tackle this issue Conservative-run Westminster City Council is piloting a wellbeing keyring.

The wellbeing keyring will enable young people involved in the pilot to simply scan a QR code which takes them to a dedicated council webpage covering the range of support available to young people and the many different ways they can access it, whether on the phone, in person or live chat.

In two schools in Westminster, the pilot keyring will reach over 4,000 students and will be introduced via dedicated assemblies and workshops run in collaboration with MIND and Kooth.
