Cllr Paul Swaddle OBE, Leader of Westminster City Council, has hit back after Prime Minister Andy Burnham said in an interview with the Evening Standard that he wants to increase "fairness" by introducing additional property taxes on top of those already proposed for London.
Cllr Swaddle said:
"Why does Andy Burnham hate London?
"He says in the Standard this week that he wants to increase fairness by introducing additional property taxes on top of all the taxes already proposed for London.
"This is outrageous. I love London. I want to stand up for Westminster, and I want to make sure that this doesn't happen."
He urged residents to read the article on the Standard's website and share their views.
