A number of you have asked about the building works in Vincent Square, where Westminster School is rebuilding its pavilion for increased use by schools from both the state and private sector and where irrigation works are being replaced.
Cllr Selina Short spoke at the planning committee calling for a planning condition on traffic management so that traffic to and from the site can be enforced - which was agreed.
“Narrow streets like Maunsel Street, along with the Square itself, have been plagued by large lorries. The school have also agreed to implement this scheme on their current building works. The is still work to be done on the exact traffic management plan and the committee insisted that your Conservative councillors will be in the loop to represent you.”
Cllr David Harvey had been able to confirm with the Council Tree Service “that the proposed works would not threaten Vincent Square’s green canopy of mature and valued trees”.
