Rubbish Collection

Clean streets remain at the heart of our City of Westminster - compared to Labour Camden, where many streets have had waste services cut to fortnightly only

Every home in our Ward has at least two timed-collections a week for household waste, and many blocks have a collection every weekday, so there is absolutely no excuse for on-street rubbish-dumping. If your street is blighted by dumped rubbish bags, please go to www.westminster.gov.uk/report-it.

Westminster City Council is increasing its resources to enforce against dumping offenders. Note that leaving rubbish bags beside our big black bins is also an offence. Put the bags in the bin, or put them out for collection at the proper time.

Reminder: March 2018 - Freedom Pass renewals

Freedom Passes, that allow older and disabled people to use London’s Transport system free of charge, must be renewed every five years. If your Freedom Pass expires in March 2018, you will need to renew it now.

You can call the Freedom Pass line: 0300 330 1433, or email [email protected].

Find out more about renewing your Freedom Pass by clicking here.

Bids invited for #MyWestminster funding for community group projects

The MyWestminster Fund is now open for applications from local groups for grants up to £10,000 to spend on community projects that promote:

  • community leadership and cohesion,
  • pride in vibrant and mixed neighbourhoods
  • air-quality and the environment
  • opportunities for young people
  • opportunities for residents’ groups, including the elderly

Groups can also apply for funding for events which might co-incide with the Council's MyWestminster Day in the summer.

Eligible groups will include voluntary organisations, resident, faith and community groups, schools, and groups that care for residents (such as residential care homes).

There will be four rounds of funding allocation. Applications for the first round must be in by Friday 23rd February, with funds awarded in March.

More information and details of how to apply can be found at here.
