Heathrow Flight Path

Heathrow is holding a public consultation covering both the proposed third runway and also maximising the use of their two existing runways, which means more planes crossing London - up to 25 per hour or almost one every two minutes. Heathrow wants to spread the impact by expanding the flight path, resulting in more planes flying over Bayswater as well as introducing early morning flights, in real terms this means the possibility of aircraft flying overhead at 5.30 a.m. Some of these flights will follow a lower flight path of 3,000 ft producing noise at up to 65 decibels; WHO guidelines identify 30 decibels as safe. The consultation is open until 4th March and can be accessed by clicking here or email [email protected] or call 0800 307 7996 (Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 6.00 pm).

These proposals will impact pollution (both air and noise), mental health and the right to enjoy our property peacefully. Below is the proposed flight map, demonstrating the negative impact on Bayswater.
