After nearly 10 months, TfL and Westminster Council has failed to tackle tent city at the Westway. We spoke with Cllr Melvyn Caplan and local resident Elliot Keck.

"I'm Councillor Melvyn Caplan. I represent Little Venice ward. We’re standing just by the Westway. We've had tents for nearly ten months in the middle of the road. It's dirty, the residents have to put up with it on a daily basis. This is not a nice scene. It's on the Little Venice side. It's also on the Hyde Park side as well."

"Yes, my name is Elliot and I'm a resident of Hyde Park, just across the road. As Melvyn mentioned this is right in the corner of the two wards. On either side, you've got nice, pleasant, peaceful communities. You’ve got Paddington Basin, just next to me. And yet for months, we've had a significant homeless encampment, essentially a slum that has blighted this neighbourhood.

"It's ten months. That's more than long enough. We are asking for the Council and TfL to do something about this. We've asked them 7 or 8 times and they still haven’t done it.

"How long does it have to take? It has to be dealt with."
