20th Century House

Last week West End Councillor and Lead Member for Soho, Timothy Barnes, had a tour of 20th Century House alongside Nickie Aiken MP.

The site, on Soho Square, has been the subject of a planned redevelopment for several years.

The developers are currently working on new proposals to reduce the environmental impact of the plans. Cllr Barnes said,

"There is huge potential for this site to add to Soho but the current plans come at too high a price in terms of carbon and the impact on local residents and businesses, particularly the adjacent sound studio. We will oppose plans as long as these issues remain a concern."

West End Ward covers the iconic areas of Mayfair, Soho, Fitzrovia and East Marylebone. Along Oxford Street, Regent Street and Bond Street and the surrounding areas, it includes some of Britain’s busiest shopping streets and is home to large numbers of theatres, entertainment and cultural venues. 

Its time for Safe Streets in Westminster

Under Labour, crime has got worse. Phone theft, antisocial behaviour, public disorder and drug dealing have all increased. People think twice before using their phone on the street. Shopkeepers have accepted shoplifting as a daily reality. Families avoid their local parks. And schools have lost community police officers. All under Sadiq Khan’s watch as Westminster Labour have overseen managed decline.
