We asked Cllr Paul Swaddle, the Leader of Westminster Conservatives to outline what the first 100 days of a Conservative administration would look like. Paul explains
This election, I am making a promise to people in Westminster about what we will deliver in our first 100 days if you vote Conservative on 7 May.
Labour promised a fairer Westminster. But four years later, they have let our city down.
Crime has risen. Streets are dirtier. Taxpayers' money has been wasted on pet projects, cleaning up poor due diligence and self-awarded pay rises. All while Labour's own figures confirm they plan to hike your council tax by up to 75 per cent over the next four years.
And throughout it all, residents have been ignored by the Labour-led council and Sadiq Khan.
Same Old Labour: you pay more, you get less, they waste the rest.
It's time for change. Local people are tired of promises that are never kept by a Labour council too distracted by managing decline.
That is why we are being clear about what a Conservative council will deliver in our first 100 days, so you can see the change and hold us to account.
If elected on Thursday 7 May, Westminster Conservatives will deliver in our first 100 days:
- Appoint a dedicated Cabinet Member for Enforcement on day one
- Launch targeted enforcement on crime hotspots across Westminster
- Tackle the dockless bike chaos by impounding bikes and issuing fines to operators
- Review every major contract following Labour's £27 million Geoffrey Osborne failure
- Challenge Mayor Sadiq Khan on Oxford Street and set up a dedicated legal fighting fund
- Launch a rapid graffiti removal programme
- Review every major road and street project for practicality, affordability and impact
- Publish our performance openly from day one
This is what Real Action looks like. No more headlines without delivery. Real change that you can experience and hold us to.
Vote for a council that will deliver from day one. Vote Conservative on 7 May.
