London Mayor Sadiq Khan is proposing to cut and make changes to a number of essential bus routes across the capital including the 113, 189, 16 and 98 which serve St John’s Wood & North Marylebone.
These bus routes are essential to local people especially the most vulnerable. Many people use them to reach the West End. That is why your local Conservatives are fighting to maintain these important services. We’ve launched this petition and are urging as many people to sign as possible.
Time and time again people across St John’s Wood and North Marylebone have been let down by the Mayor and his woeful management of Transport for London (TfL).
Now is the time to stand up to the Mayor and say no to changing and taking away these bus routes. Sign our petition below!
Hurry, consultation on these proposed cuts is set to close on Sunday 7th August 2022.
Commenting on the Mayor's plans Cllr Ralu Oteh-Osoka said:
These bus routes are an important transport link for many of our residents. Mayor Khan is showing a blatant disregard for the people of St John’s Wood & North Marylebone.
Cllr Robert Rigby added:
We all want to see better air quality and fewer polluting cars on the road, but you can’t hammer residents with the increased congestion charge and the ULEZ, whilst at the same time removing their access to public transport.
Cllr Tony Devenish AM, GLA Member for West Central, continued:
“A large number of local people rely on these routes so by cutting them will reduce capacity and the frequency of buses serving the area.”
