Local residents, workers and visitors to Soho have always enjoyed being able to sit outside of the cafes of Berwick Street, Soho's high street.
Recent enforcement by the council has seen these removed after a decision that there was not enough pavement space for pedestrians.
But Berwick Street is closed to traffic from 7 am to 7.30 pm Monday to Saturday so pedestrians can use much more space. During these times, we want to see the benches return as the first part of a better management plan for Berwick Street and Soho.
Soho resident and local Councillor Tim Barnes explains
"We want to see a thriving Berwick Street with cafes, shops and market stalls all doing well.
"Bringing back the benches should be the first step to a better plan for the street."
If you agree with local West End councillors Tim Barnes and Paul Fisher that we should bring back the Berwick Street benches, then add your name to our petition below.
